Read to a Child is a national literacy and mentoring non-profit that fosters a love of reading, improves literacy skills, and empowers underserved children by inspiring adults to read aloud to them regularly.  Research proves that reading aloud to children is the single most important activity for enabling eventual success in reading and, therefore, likelihood for success in school and life. Read to a Child’s flagship Lunchtime Reading Program utilizes over 1,800 volunteers from more than 150 corporations nationwide who read aloud to 1,400 at-risk elementary school students in greater Boston, Detroit, Hartford, Los Angeles and Miami.

What's New?

Boxing books for distribution during the 2020 Pandemic.

Covid Pandemic

Our goal is to organize and collect books from schools, organizations, and communities to donate to people without resources to owning their own books.  During this tragic time, we continue to collect and deliver to the neediest members of our community that have been impacted most by the pandemic and its economic implications.  Branches Miami and United Way Miami received a combination of 5,000 books at this challenging time to distribute to their children sitting home while school is solely online.

Book Drives are happening every day!

365 days a year, Page by Page collects gently used books to redistribute into communities that have a true need for books.

Top Donators

We have a number of donations from incredibly generous people with incredibly kind hearts.  Our top donations come from Pinecrest Elementary, Palmetto Elementary, Snapper Creek Elementary, Sunset Elementary, and Ransom Everglades Middle School.   Incredibly dedicated and generous children give each year!

Winn Dixie Chose Page by Page!

For the month of May, the Bird Road location of Winn Dixie chose to donate a $1 to Page by Page for each purchase of a shopping bag at Winn Dixie.  Thank you!
